huge shout out to portland resident colin o’brady who conquered a solo, unsupported, unaided crossing of the continent of antarctica (921 miles) while dragging a 300+ pound sled and consuming 7,000 calories per day. he had enough in his tank to cover the final 78 miles in one final sleepless, 32-hour sprint. he used limited bandwidth on his satellite phone to update hisinstagram account after being the first person to snap from mt. everest. we met a few months ago (alongside his incredible wife and expedition operations/media manager Jenna) and at that point, i was already inspired by him summiting the tallest peak on all seven continents and competing in triathlons after suffering a tragic accident and being told he might never walk again. insert bless up emoji.
